  • Does Anyone Know If Neyo has rescheduled?

Does anyone know if the concert that Neyo walked out on in Manchester has been rescheduled? I am such a big fan of his music we sing along to his CD in the car amd know all the words. It's just he said he would be back and the promoter even announced that it would be rescheduled. I understand he was fine at the Liverpool show on Friday so we are hoping he is better?

  • Neyo Walks off stage in Manchester

I took my ickle man to see Neyo in Manchester tonight and everything was going brilliantly until Neyo walked on stage half way through his gig crying and said he had never not finished a performance before....then promptly left ;o( The promoter announced that the concert will be rescheduled for all ticket holders and that Neyo will be back when they can fit it in and he is better...so there you go..he lost his voice..think there is more to it though..like an unrealistic schedule!! What he did do was actually brilliant..what a performer..can't wait for the rescheduled date ;o) xx

  • Band of Legends Play the IMP

BAND OF LEGENDS PLAY THE IMP

A brand-new covers band of accomplished local musicians perform their debut show at Crewe's 'Imp' on Thursday 25th June.

The band - FOULPLAY - comprises four of the area's most experienced muso's. Neil Beech and Lee Garner share the duties on guitar and vocals and are joined by drummer Steve 'Shoey' Shoebridge and bassist Nick 'Spoons' Bayes

Shoey, Neil and Lee performed in a band called 'Fourplay' in the late 80's achieving national success. After being courted by EMI and MCA records they were offered a recording contract by the now defunct Jet Records (ELO, Ozzy Osbourne, Roy Wood, Magnum etc). The band supported such acts as Dr and the Medics and Bros amongst others during that era.

Songwriting success also came with top 75 hits by artists featuring the SAW star Miriam Stockley as backing vocalist. Since then they have continued to contribute to the local music scene, appearing between them in a plethora of local bands such as Big Blue House, Voice, Beam, The Space Hoppers and The Blues Roosters amongst others over the years.

Bassist Spoons achieved national recognition with 'Tower Struck Down' in the early 90's. He featured on several international tours with the band and enjoyed significant UK success, appearing at Glastonbury Festival and supporting the likes of the late Kirsty MacColl. Spoons now plays bass for rising local star Chloë Chadwick in her band - CHLOË.

FOULPLAY take the stage at 9.30pm.

  • Vote for a Change

    See www.voteforachange.co.uk and vote.
The expense crisis reveals a nation governed by a political elite that has stopped listening and who are accountable to no one but their party machines. Too many MPs seem more interested in changing their homes than changing the world.

Our society faces real problems - mass unemployment and growing poverty, the threat of climate chaos and an erosion of our civil liberties to name but three. These all require effective government working on behalf of the popular will.

Yet our whole political system is close to collapse. Just when the system needed to be strong it has been brought to its knees. Only the British people can put this right. We demand a new electoral system that makes everyone’s vote count.

Alongside the next general election there should be a binding referendum on whether to change to a new more proportional electoral system. This should be drawn up by a large jury of randomly selected citizens, given the time and information to deliberate on what voting system and other changes would make parliament more accountable to citizens.

Politics is now too important to be left to the politicians. We demand the right to be able to vote for a change:

  • My Grandma was Margaret Thatchers Landlady for3 years

Margaret Thatcher, the grocer's daughter from Grantham who rose to become one of Britain's most controversial prime ministers, lived in Colchester for two years after leaving Oxford.
As Margaret Roberts, she lodged in Cambridge Road, and commuted daily to her job as a £400-a-year research chemist at the British Xylonite Company at Cattawade, near Manningtree .
Colchester people remember her catching the 8am Beeston's works bus from the bus depot in St John's Street. This was in marked contrast to the huge security operation surrounding her visit to the town as part of the 1992 election campaign.
While in Colchester in the late 1940s, she joined the town's Conservative Association and worked diligently for the cause, manning book stalls at fetes and attending social events. She eventually became association secretary.
Lady Thatcher's biographer, Kenneth Harris, said: "She discussed politics in the canteen and tried to proselytise her fellow employees travelling to and from work.
"She was regarded with a mixture of amusement and respect. Some of her colleagues thought her a bit boring at times - but nobody disliked her and took to her because she was 'friendly and nice'."
At the 1948 Conservative conference in Llandudno, Wales, she was persuaded to fight the safe Labour seat at Dartford, Kent. She was just 24 and the only woman shortlisted. When she was selected she was the youngest Tory candidate in the country and shaved 1,000 votes off the Labour majority.
She left Colchester to nurse Dartford for another attempt at the seat, taking a job with the J.Lyons food company. She later went on to capture Finchley for the Tories, a seat she held until her retirement.
Lady Thatcher's elder sister Muriel Cullen farms at Great Oakley near Harwich and Lady Thatcher used a visit to the farm as a sounding board to find out about farm policies shortly after becoming Conservative leader in 1975. She also went shopping with Mrs Cullen, buying five pairs of shoes from a shop on the exclusive Connaught Avenue in Frinton.
Lady Thatcher clearly remembers her time in Colchester. Her landlady was Enid Macaulay, president of Colchester soroptomists. She repaid her friendship by addressing a meeting of the soroptomists in 1976.

  • Integrity

Today the word "integrity" has been banded about quite a lot lately. The term simply means "to become integral." We are all such complex human beings and combinations of many different facets so for many it is such a difficult thing to do. Unless we attempt to meld these facets into some sort of cohesive whole, we will remain fragmented, disjointed, and incongruent. We will be without knowledge of our true core, and in essence we will be without integrity. So many times we see people not sure what they want or not sure of their path and so many times we think/believe maybe it is because they are not integral?

In order to accomplish being integral and becoming more whole and fully integrated, we need to carefully examine what we hold most dear, and name those things we value above all others. In naming and defining these precious things we need to be truthful -- for these are our muses, our sources of inspiration and renewal.

    Why is this process important?

First, the process of honest self-examination is a way toward health at different levels, and it will readily help identify what motivates and inspires us. Also, personal reflection may help begin the revealing of the thing(s) that nurtures and inspires our muses. Forms of inspiration are vital to our happiness and important to sustaining our existence.

Next, the processes involved in defining self forms a bond that gives each of us a special and unique persona. Acts of self-definition, active and deep reflection, and periodic sessions of intense inner self-examination, these keep us centred, balanced, and insightful. These kinds of processes aid us in developing acute awareness of who and what we are, of why we are here, and ultimately, in helping to define that which directs our lives and helps us find bliss.

    Romantic Texts

Just to let you know you are the best friend i've ever had.

Let these words not only touch your eyes, let them travel through your soul, and let them rest in your heart as you rest in mine…I love you.

    You're still the one…

Words alone will never be able to express the depth of my love for you.

In case you didn't know, I'll be loving you always and forever!!

Just when I thought it couldn't get better, you prove me wrong! I love you!

Falling in love with you was the easiest thing I've done in my life.

Hand in hand and heart to heart my love for you shall never part.

Even though we are apart, my love you will never part.

I'll love the sun for days, the moon for nights, and YOU for forever.

Loving you makes my heart explode with happiness.

Rains fall, winds blow, the sun shines... it all comes naturally, just like loving you.

    Simply said... I love you...

Being with you is like having every single one of my wishes come true.

Loving you has been the best thing to ever happen to me!

Just had to let you know... you're the best! I love you!

There is no long distance about love; it always finds a way to bring hearts together, no matter how many miles are between them.

You are the sun in my day, the wind in my sky, the waves in my ocean, and the beat in my heart.

I wish I was there to hold you tight instead of just send this loving, "Good Night."

Thank you for being the one who calms all my inner fears.

Your love is all I'll ever need.
