Happy Christmas

by JessicaSmith @ Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 - 14:40:34

Tomorrow is the 1st December and soon we will all be saying Happy Christmas!! Have you started writing your Christmas cards yet? Have you done your Christmas shopping? Have you stopped to think for a moment what you mean when you say Happy Christmas? Are they merely words with no real content, which just trip off the tongue? Or is it in the vague hope that one day just for one day everyone might be Just Happy? Maybe next time you should say it and really mean it!

Who am I? If I'm not famous, not a celebrity, not in Hello magazine, what am I worth, who says I'm significant, if I'm taken for granted by many, abused by many and told I don't count. What am I worth?

Wouldn't that require us just saying 'happy happiness?' Surely, meaning it must partake of the actual meaning - the reason behind the festivity? Did I ever tell you that 'cheesecake' is French for 'happy?' Actually, I made that up. Cheescake makes me happy though, and maybe the French should consider this timely addition to their vocabulary? Am I rambling again?

O my life, Jess! You are the first blackcurrant!! strawberry is the runaway leader, closely followed by lemon and chocolate. I've never tried blackcurrant - now I feel the lack in my life!

You must try blackcurrant KOC (KING OF CHEESECAKES) haha

Haha! I'm glad you elaborated on that abbreviation! I love strawberry - but if you buy the frozen type it takes exactly 3yrs 251 days 9hrs and 37 seconds to defrost the strawberries, whilst, in the meantime, the rest of the cheesecake has decomposed and dissapeared!

Christmas is hunbug. Was supposed to get a pay rise and bonus in July, but as the union contested it it was put back to this month. And guess what! Found out we wont be getting it till end of December (January pay), oh well have to be Bernard Matthews this year.

That's wubbish isn't it!!

Is it worth, I wonder, finding out what happened in history - other than the obvious - on December 25th?

Meanwhile, yes, of course, Christmas can be crap. That's the joy of being an adult. And God knows I can think of some really bad ones. But if we're thinking positive, we should start with:

A) Pressies. V nice to receive, even nicer to give.

B) Mulled wine. VV nice to drink, even nicer to be drunk on.

C) Corry Chrimbo special. Makes everyone feel happy, even when they put those Christmas Careline-Don't-Top-Yourself tickers along the bottom

D) Nans. Even if they're dead - like mine are - you for reason always remember them

E) Er, crackers. Crackers are good, aren't they?

F) Um, just had to pop out....

G) Log Fires
H)Twinkley Lights
I) Carols

J) Piccalily. Only ever eat it on Boxing Day. With cold turkey. Mmm.
