  • Terry Conroy or is it Tony Conroy

Last night we hosted a Customer Christmas Dinner at the British Potters Manufacturing Federation Club. The place was so elegant with lovely traditional decor, fabulous food and wonderful service. We had figs to eat with goats cheese, followed by soup, followed by chicken followed by chestnut panacotta! YUMMY! Local Stoke legend footballer Terry Conroy was the guest speaker at the event. Terry scored Stoke City's first goal at Wembley in the 1972 League cup final against Chelsea. Terry was also capped by the Republic of Ireland national team 26 times. Never a dull mo! He was really very entertaining and he popped to see us again this morning.

  • Wrexham,Leyland, Pussy Cat Dolls

    hand

Had another busy week last week went to Wrexham on Monday to sort out the changes we need to make to the Reception areas. Wednesday went to Leyland with loads of Customers for a plant tour, was a giggle especially the blue tights but that's another story!! Friday my friend John who's retiring with his wife to Spain sent champagne & chocolates cos I managed to get an important parcel too him. I was only being a friend but hey when you are appreciated the whole world shines!!! ;o) Gave the champagne to Rach for being a gud friend. Last night went to see The Pussy Cat dolls at the MEN arena was excellent, they really are fantastic dancers!! You wouldn't believe the trouble we went to to go though it really was hilarious! Started months ago when Sophie sent me a txt asking if I could go onto the internet and get us tickets to go. Seemed like a great idea at the time so I ordered two tickets from ticket master at the retail price!! A few days later I recieved an email from them asking me to fax a copy of my bank statements due to a new security measure to prove I was who I said I was...this sounded a bit odd so I didn't and the tickets were then cancelled...Sophie was still excited so I set about ordering some more this time from a place called www.londonticketshop.co.uk ..this time at twice the retail price!! aaagggh Well about a week ago I realised no tickets had arrived so I set about finding my order confirmation and emailing them chasing them up. No reply, so a few days later I emailed them again. I was getting worried as there is no phone number on the website and the registered office is in Hungary!!! However this time I got an email back from a hotmail address saying a rep would be at the venue and I had to collect them from there and they would be in touch further. Yesterday morning I got a telephone call from a guy saying he was from thelondonticket shop I had to meet a guy called John at 7.30 at the main entrance and he gave me his mobile telephone number! All sounded very very odd however we set off to the MEN arena in Manchester armed with this John's mobile telephone number so at about 6.30 we phoned it. Well a John did answer the phone and he asked how many tickets we needed. He then said he would be outside MacDonald's, at this point I asked him what he looked like and if he had any distinguishing features lol..He replied just phone me when you get there and I'll put my hand in the air. Phone him well he'd done a bunk! I couldn't get through and I guess I was conned?!? Sophie was disappointed... had I been on my own I would have driven home, there were ticket touts all around so I paid a further £100 for two tickets just to not let her down..Morale of the story don't trust www.londonticketshop.co.uk
Today I've tried to get hold of them at thelondonticketshop and I was passed about a lot. They said they would refund my money so I am waiting for this to happen but I won't hold my breath!! I am amazed these con men are allowed to operate on the web! Just read all the terrible stories...all sounds too familiar! Should be one for the police

During the day today one of our suppliers turned up with hampers and another gift of champagne for me. I think I'll put it in the Christmas raffle for a prize. Furniture was turning up left right and centre as well and had meetings with web developers, yellow pages whilst writing business plans, writing letters and dealing with floral plant contracts NEVER EVER A DULL MO!!!

  • Gordon Banks, Birthday Boy and Evening at a Farm

Well the week started well. Arrived at the Stoke v Coventry match me and Rach were excited! We were ushered into the Gordon Banks suite that just happened to be opening that night and had a drink at the bar. We then sat down to a 3 course meal (chief troughers) Gordon Banks was there he was really nice! Amazing to think it was 40years on since he was the 1966 hero. Dunno how we managed it but we had the best seats in the house in the Directors box sitting right behind Mr Banks. The match was very foggy at one point we didn't know how many players were on the pitch lol! At half time there was more food soup and sandwiches...In the second half there was a wonder goal for Stoke and at the end there was yet more food this time a mini Wrights pie!! LOL
Tuesday was Don's 40th Birthday. Really mad busy at work then went over to Don's with ickle man to drop some stools off. He asked us to stay for food so we did...Obviously a week for food!
Wednesday evening met up with Carol, Commander and the girls for a meal in a farm! Very different basically this family open up their farm for meals. You sit in their Dining room with an open fire and enjoy a 3 course meal. Was gr8! • Patience

7anfieldLFCRULEMy Mum always says Patience is a virtue... full of great sayings is my MUM! Love you! It's November and the nights are drawing in, Summer seems sooooo far away. Everyone's patience is being tested. The kids are impatient for Christmas, adults are impatient for the sun. But I believe patience is fruit of the spirit!
It's interesting that we are told to be patient and to wait..after all David had to wait 40years to become King...He needed this time of waiting to become the King that the peeps needed. Prince Charles is still waiting! It is easy for us to be impatiently chasing the agenda of the world, but it doesn't work like that. We have to be still, be patient refrain from fretting and believe and everything will happen in it's own good time..PEACE! Generous, kind and warm hearted dats the good stuff in this world never mind the rest be Happy!

  • Bar Stools, Chubb building & Chilling

Well last night took the not broken bar stools over to Don's and the blue colour was all wrong...Didn't get there till 8pm and ickle man was tired. Stayed about an hour then drove home an hour. The cream ones were broken got replacements for those coming on Monday..soo register this for later on in the story.. got four bar stools if anyone wants them lol (plus two broken ones)! Today been out with Richard ( we call him Arthur cos he wears an Arthur Daly coat) to Connect in Wolverhampton. They are located in the Chubb building. I was impressed with the Architecture and their boardroom had bright purple seats!! I love mod mixed with old.... fab! Anway before our meeting we grabbed a Bacon, sausage, egg and cheese bap for 99p just as well as we only had £2 between us! Met some very nice peeps they seem to know their marketing! Arrived back in the orifice for more madness. Took a late lunch on a mission for cream leather bar stools.. the ones I had sourced earlier on in the week were on a 3wk delivery and Don needs them yesterday..so I took a flyer and bought 4 that they could get in for tomorrow..just sent the pic and he dunna like them soo peeps I now have 8 bar stools (plus two broken ones) hmm 10 cream bar stools standing on the wall..and if one cream bar stool should accidentally fall haha.Anyway I have masses of boxes to tidy away them I'm going to bed for a well earned rest!!!! hehe Highlight of the day I have discovered Oat Cakes! chief trougher..Turns out he loved them when I took em round Saturday so no cream bar stools standing on the wall nemore! • A mad day

Mad as a boxWhen Rach said I'm as mad as a box of frogs today I laughed but as the day has worn on I think I finally can agree! Got up nice and early arrived in the orifice for 8.30 things were going well. Had meetings with Auto Trader & Signal Radio...the rest of the day involved all sorts of varied madness! Had fun though! Arrived home after collecting ickle man from after school club at 5.40pm. Emptied the Volvo which was full of stock in 10 mins flat. Lady who was doing a voluntary council survey at 6 turned up early...hmm I said to her I know this sounds crazy but rather than let you down can you come with me to Winsford in the car so I can collect some stock from DHL and you can do the survey on the way..She laughed and said why not...so off we tootled with the interior light on so she could read the questions as I drove along! Well laugh she asked me all sorts of questions about Cheshire County Council involving the Fire Brigade, Days out in Cheshire, Transport Problems, Recycling...etc etc.. At various points she held up Adverts that I had to say whether I recognised them or not..not easy whilst driving! haha
Anyway ickle man was in the back and answered a few questions for me haha The round trip took an hour just in time we finished the survey and she took off laughing saying it was a 1st! Arrived home fed ickle man then looked in my garden oh yes is that 25 boxes of Christmas stock I see that has been delivered...After putting them all in the house I am now surrounded by boxes! I have just bathed ickle man and unpacked everything to check for breakages and two of the bar stools are cracked. Everything else seems to be ok...I've just packed 10 parcels that need to go out tomorrow and I'm giggling to myself someone should follow me round with a video camera cos it really is quite funny!

  • Calamity Jess strikes again!

gibraltar 5 penceimage001MA12700960-0015Well today we've had many laffs in the orifice! We have decided that I single handedly create the most rubbish in one day. My huge black bin liner full verses everyone elses small carrier bag full..so a recycling effort is now in force. I've managed to do some very dippy things today..more than usual...we all had a lot of laffs about it tho!! Seem to be having a bit of a run on rabbit fur cushions and they malted all over us! Another 5p turned up at my feet this time from Gibraltar ...had no idea they had a 5p just like ours in Gibraltar...and on Saturday when I was out with the girls found one on the floor..so the 5p thing is back in force! haha
Tonight I've been to Tesco in Congleton with ickle man and then we stopped for a Chinese Takeaway..during the journey ickle man got cramp in his foot so I tried to help him by holding the bag of Chinese....the bag disintegrated all over the car...all over my jeans and all over my leather seats..we laffed all the way home..think I should go to bed now!! Highlight of the day bought brain training for Nintendo DS..maybe it will improve the dizzy blonde thing

  • Airships & Churches

When I was ickle I lived in Albrighton, Shropshire. My fascination with aircraft started from a young age when the Goodyear airship used to fly over. It was a lovely sight! I was just thinking...Goodyear airshipalbrightonst petersWe used to live next door to the church and at the bottom of the garden was a huge lake with swans it was a lovely place to grow up...now I live next to another church..no wonder I have a fascination with churches too! Left his house about 8 then went home to get ready and met up with the girls again in Sandbach must have been about 10.30 was hardly worth going out haha ran Steph home in the pouring rain. Sunday got up early and went with Carol to one of my suppliers in Manchester..Jenny from one of my favourite shops in Sandbach Emporium asked me to get her some feather Christmas trees yes feather for her Christmas window display. Carol bought quite a lot of things and Don asked me to get him a bin. Dropped Carol home then dropped off the bin at Don's. • I've got a real thing about Spitfire's

When I was married I collected Old Aeroplane paintings. Of course I left them behind and I miss looking at them. There is something quite lovely about the Spitfire in flight don't you think?

From Woodford to Bournemouth.Built as a Vulcan B2, XH537 first flew at Woodford on 4th August 1959 and was delivered to the Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment (A&AEE) at Boscombe Down at the end of that month. Following conversion work at Woodford, XH537 was used by the A&AEE for trials with the Skybolt missile. She first flew with dummy Skybolts in November 1961 and made the first missile drop on 1st December of that year. Upon the cancellation of the Skybolt programme, XH537 had test equipment removed and was delivered to 230 OCU at RAF Finningley in May 1965. Following storage at Bitteswell from January 1972 to June 1974, XH537 then went to RAF St Athan, where she was converted for the maritime reconnaissance role as a B2MRR. Issued to 27 Squadron in February 1978, XH537 remained in service until 24th March 1982, when she was flown to RAF Abingdon, where the aim was to put her on display.

In the end, XH537 remained in external store and was scrapped in May 1991, with the nose & forward section being saved by Barry Parkhouse and kept at Ottershaw in Surrey. Following a move to Bruntingthorpe in June 1997 while in the care of new owner Colin Mears, the remains of XH537 then passed to current owner Paul Hartley in June 1998. In March 2006 the museum purchased the exhibit for permanant display at Bournemouth.

  • Biggest Blog In History

I see in the news today historians are attempting to record the biggest blog in history to record the everyday lives of people living in the UK. A snapshot in history October 17th...hoho so here's a snapshot of today from me ;o)
We all seem to be busier than ever these days trying to juggle family, work and social commitments and it’s often the small things in life that can brighten up our day and make us feel on top of the world.
We all find pleasure in different ways and it’s important to do something that’s right for you. Whether it’s enjoying the last of the warm, sunny weather, going on a beautiful country walk, or buying a bunch of your favourite flowers for your best friend for no other reason than to say hello, the autumn is a great time to reappraise your life and look at the simple ways you can lift both your own spirits – and those of people around you. When was the last time you thanked a friend for something?
Today I woke up early. Got ickle man ready for school and left at 7.45 armed with a couple of parcels to post. Tried last night unsucessfully to find a home for a party of four to go golfing at Mottram Hall however someone somewhere must wish it belonged to them!! PJ and my bro weren't interested maybe some customers will be? haha Arrived in the office about 8.30 Had a meeting first thing with the sales team, Rach mentioned Stan Boardman which I found very bizarre as he came up in conversation last night too. The meeting was followed by another meeting, a card signing exercise and a direct mail campaign. Still not found my bin very strange...The rest of the day was busy taking photographs and sorting websites and search engine listings, branding and merchandise! Left the office about 5pm and got tuck in fwaffic for about 15mins. About ten to six collected ickle man from the after school club when I arrived home one of my suppliers was on my drive waiting for me! Never a dull mo. She'd called to show me her new Christmas lines...During the meeting I thew together chicken nuggets and chips for ickle man whilst sipping tea and coffee. She kept going to her car and bringing suitcases full of samples in. I think she left about 8pm with an order. At some point today the decorator has been and my front door and windows are all wet..I put ickle man in a warm bath, did a bit of ironing for tomorrow, made up some parcels for posting and mopped my floors. I'm just sitting down to blog this then I'm off to bed... night allMongolian sheepskin rug

  • My Bro's 40th

lymingtonLast weekend went to my Bro's 40th Birthday party. Don drove which was very lovely of him as he has a much more comfortable car than my ickle two seater. When we arrived at the holiday park we bumped into Mum & Dad and soon found the chalet and dumped our bags. PJ & Nikki were just about to go swimming so they took ickle man and me and Don went for a walk by the beach. We could see the Isle of White needles. One of them looked very much like a passenger ferry. After a bracing walk we went to the bar hooked up with my Bro and some of his old friends where we watched the England match. Was really nice to see my sister in law Deb, Rich, Lucy, Lauren, Jocelyn, Anthony,Olly, Donna,Div, Teds,Lyndsay,Sandra.Had a lovely time at the party saw a few people who I'd not seen in ages which was ace and fell into bed about midnight soo tired, must have been all the fresh air. During the party Andy & Derrick made speeches both were slurring their words, then my ickle Nephew said a few words and it all brought tears to my eyes...ahh

The key point to keep in mind about values is that choosing which values you stand by and by implementing them in your life brings new energy into everything concerned with them. Being fair is by far more cool than being unfair.

  • Let Your Little Light Shine

    fire

How's your personal magnetism? Actually, our bodies are electrical systems. And, just like a magnet, we all can attract (or repel) people, situations or things either to or away from us.

This is because our thoughts and emotions are forms of energy as well, and the thoughts and emotions that we "send out" have a great deal to do with how others perceive us and how we interact in the world.

The key here is to become aware of the types of thoughts and emotions you generally have. Are they positive and open to possibilities, or negative and critical (of yourself or others)? A simple point to remember is that you attract what you focus on.

For example, if you catch yourself having a negative thought such as, "I'll never get ahead," you're sending out a negative, or repelling, energy. But if you turn it into a positive statement, like "I am succeeding in my chosen path," you'll be sending out a positive, attracting energy.

So, boost your personal magnetism with positive thoughts, and, like the old folk song, "let your little light shine."

  • 1924 Saturdays

untitledHow many marbles do you have?

The older I get, the more I enjoy Saturday mornings. Perhaps it's the quiet solitude that comes with being the first up, or maybe it's the unbounded joy of not having to be at work. Either way, the first few hours of a Saturday morning are most enjoyable.

A few weeks ago, I was shuffling toward the kitchen, with a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and the morning paper in the other. What began as a typical Saturday morning turned into one of those lessons that life seems to hand you from time to time.

Let me tell you about it. I turned the volume up on my radio in order to listen to a Saturday morning talk show. I heard an older sounding chap with a golden voice. You know the kind, he sounded like he should be in the broadcasting business himself.

He was talking about "a thousand marbles" to someone named "Tom". I was intrigued and sat down to listen to
what he had to say. "Well, Tom, it sure sounds like you're busy with your job. I'm sure they pay you well but it's a shame you have to be away from home and your family so much. Hard to believe a young fellow should have to work sixty or seventy hours a week to make ends meet. Too bad you missed your daughter's dance show. " He continued, "Let me tell you something Tom, something that has helped me keep a good perspective on my own priorities." And that's when he began to explain his theory of a "thousand marbles."

"You see, I sat down one day and did a little arithmetic. The average person lives about seventy-five years. I know, some live more and some live less, but on average, folks live about seventy-five years." "Now then, I multiplied 75
times 52 and I came up with 3900 which is the number of Saturdays that the average person has in their entire lifetime.

"Now stick with me Tom, I'm getting to the important part. "It took me until I was fifty-five years old to think about all this in any detail", he went on, "and by that time I had lived through over twenty-eight hundred Saturdays. "I got to thinking that if I lived to be seventy-five, I only had about a thousand of them left to enjoy. "So I went to a toy store and bought every single marble they had. I ended up having to visit three toy stores to round-up 1000 marbles. "I took them home and put them inside of a large, clear plastic container right here in my workshop next to the radio. Every Saturday since then, I have taken one marble out and thrown it away.

"I found that by watching the marbles diminish, I focused more on the really important things in life. There is nothing like watching your time here on this earth run out to help get your priorities straight. "Now let me tell you one last thing before I sign-off with you and take my lovely wife out for breakfast. This morning, I took the very last marble out of the container. I figure if I make it until next Saturday then God has blessed me with a little extra time to be with my loved ones...... "It was nice to talk to you Tom, I hope you spend more time with your loved ones, and I hope to meet you again someday. Have a good morning!"

You could have heard a pin drop when he finished. Even the show's staff didn't have anything to say for a few moments. I guess he gave us all a lot to think about. I had planned to do some work that morning, then go for a run. Instead, I went upstairs and woke my son up with a kiss. "C'mon, I'm taking you to breakfast." Hey, we can stop at a toy store while we're out? I need to buy some marbles."

  • Never Too Busy for a Friend..

Never Too Busy for a Friend..
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a
    space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in
    the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had
    said about that individual.

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I
never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much." were most of the comments.

No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but
it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.

Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student.
She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.

The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last
    one to bless the coffin.

As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She
nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot."

After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously
waiting to speak with his teacher.

"We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. "They found this on Mark when he was killed.
We thought you might recognize it."

Opening the wallet, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and
refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.

"Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it."

All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home."

Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album."

"I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary."

Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists."

That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.

The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.

So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

And One Way To Accomplish This Is: Post it so someone can read it!

Don't pass up the wonderful opportunity to do something nice and beautiful

Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.

May Your Day Be As Blessed As You Are Special

    With love from

    Jessica x

This morning we got up really early and took the kids to Chester Zoo. It was absolutely baking hot, we saw my favs the elephants and here's some of the pics. When we got back we were sitting in the garden absolutely boiled and all of a sudden the wind whirled around us really violently and dark clouds came overhead. We rushed about getting the washing in, putting the roof of my car up and collecting all the newspapers we were all reading. Haha I've never seen anything like it thunder, lightening, hail stones, very heavy rain, flash floods, trees everywhere...never a dull mo the children then all made their own pizzas with ham, pineapple, cheese & tomato sauce...followed by a sing song on the piano

Prior to all of that Don had to climb in through a window as his mate shut the front door and his keys were in the house! Doh. haha Played a game of pool when we got back. Last night went out with Sophie, Abbey and some others I made sure I drove so didn't get into their drinking rounds of jugs of redbull and vodka, haha or I would have been plastered! One of the barstaff followed me to my car and questioned whether I should be driving but on J2O's I think I was safe!! It was like being questioned by the police haha

  • Happy Birthday Ickle Man!!

Today is ickle man's Birthday! 8 today!! Happy Birthday darling Love you!! xx
Thursday met up with Yvonne, Nicky, Stuart & Trevor for a bite to eat at The Limes haha no surprise there! I had scollops which were gorgeous!
Friday drove about in my car and sat with Yvonne in the sunshine in the garden getting very hot topping up the tan. Stuart had an important marketing job involving menus and local businesses! It was... put a short skirt on Jess and go and see the builders with a menu! haha Went to the Limes for tea met up with friends Jayne, Wayne, Yvonne & Nicky. Found a 5p! Later went to see my friend Don, checked out his new gym and kitchen plan. On the way home I left my handbrake on whilst I was driving, nearly had a fire, smoke was coming out of the rear wheel. How stupid was that? Fortunately I had to go back for my coat and Don noticed. Saved again haha
Yesterday went to watch the match at the Limes, with ickle man and two friends England did the job. Saw Steve & Ev. Ev had been to her home country Turkey and bought me the most lovely bracelet which is made from glass beads. The beads are to protect me from the Evil Eye, it's a Turkish tradition...wasn't that lovely of her! Bless! We then drove to the Trafford Centre where we watched X Men, followed by a meal at Est Est Est follwed by a trip to the arcade, Midnight feast when we got back and I think it all went quiet at about 12.30!Image_81

  • One of my embarrassing moments!

When PJ was just a ickle toddler I took him to Crewe on the train to take something back to M & S. Well we struggled on the train with pushchair and bags, enjoyed the journey but it started to rain.
Arrived at Crewe station struggled up some more steps it was now raining very hard...lets get a taxi I said.
There was a long queue of taxi's outside the station so I stood loking at this white car and thought well he's obviously not going to get out and help so I lifted up the boot. His boot was jam packed full of tools, so I moved a few around to get the pushchair in and slammed the boot down for effect haha
Opened the back door of the cab got in with ickle toddler and bags.
Can you take me into town please I remember saying. This guy turned round sorry love I'm not a taxi driver I'm picking up my wife...stupidly I said well I'm not a pick up either...sooo embarrassed
Worst of all though as I was getting out with bags and toddler and he was helping me retrieve the pushchair his wife came along...more embarrassment I think I caused a world war..
Who's this she said what's she doing getting out of our car and I left him with all the explaining as it was raining
I got in the real taxi behind and the taxi guy said I watched all of that and you should be on TV with that one...I still blush now...it was the moving all his tools about and slamming the boot down that did it...seriously scarlet

  • Tell me your most embarrassing moments

Tell me an embarrassing moment....and I might tell you one of mine...Deal?

  • Morning Has Broken

Wow what a fantastic morning!! I've bought some beers and traditional lemonade for anyone who might drop by for tuna and cucumber sandwiches!! haha
Well trying to recap on what I've done since I got home. Went to see Don on Friday night his sister was there and we stayed up talking until 4am. I'd left my car roof down and it was freezing. Friday day I met with friends for lunch Nicky, Stuart, Yvonne, Commander & my business partner all friends together that was fun. Saturday went to the Limes with Nicky for something to eat and ended up in Sandbach with the girls. We hit the bars and pubs and we ended up at some random party in a converted barn with amongst others an architect called Andrew that had read my blog just a few hours earlier whilst bored at work. He just stumbled across it and here he was telling me all about my life hahaha fame at last haha very bizarre. Another of the guests was a gay lad that entertained us all night with his witt and banter and I mean witty, hilarious the guy should be on tv! I want him out with me every weekend!
PJ's been round quite a few times this week, he is sooo brown and looks really well. He was full of the joys of spring cos whilst we've been away he's been in Zante with Dean Ashton. He said guys kept coming upto him asking for his autograph, so he pretended to be a lower league player too, just for laughs! haha
Today I'm off to the hygenist, what joy! haha Got the date wrong for Chester races it's next Tuesday and Bon Jovi had to be given a miss cos it's ickle man's Birthday at the weekend. Saturday night I've arranged for some of his friends to come over for a sleepover. Here's the agenda watch England match, cinema, meal out, arcade then hopefully midnight feast then sleep!!
The day before yesterday I had a major win on the GG's Stuart had once told me this story about a horse and I couldn't remember the jist but I saw it's name on the card and backed it. Well it won yeeeha I then had a major lecture from Stuart that I should never back horses on a hunch and it's the way to lose loads of money. When you win though you're just happy that you won! Although I will take his advice on board!

Sunsets, beaches, swimming, beautiful coves, boats, a very steep hill up to our apartment, fantastic views, log fires, loads of walking, lots of exploring, hot sunny weather. We had a crisis when we moved the patio table to play battleships one morning only to have a swarm of wasps attack ickle man. 7 stings on one hand he had ;o( Anway we plunged it in water and it seemed to pull the stings out as it didn't swell up at all. Anyway guess what they send to deal with wasps nests in Mallorca? THE FIRE BRIGADE haha

  • A Billion

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend.

One advertising agency did a rather good job of putting that figure into
perspective in one of its releases:

A billion seconds ago it was 1974.

A billion minutes ago was 74 years after Jesus died.

A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

A billion days ago no creature walked the earth on two feet.

  • Cardiff, Lottery

Got an early train home to collect ickle man. Only had one bet Friday and it won! I had a very nice Goats Cheese Tart and crumble for a sweet.

So if you're reading this we've got them safe for you! Arrived home to my Eldest son PJ,who was babysitting, telling me all about how he and 7 of his mates are going to the cup final on Saturday for free...all thanks to his mate Dean Ashton sending tickets! Today was a mad one my financial advisor knocked on the door at about 11am and said do you realise your roof is down on your sports car and it's raining rather alot! At least 2cm of rain!! Anyway during the course of the meeting he asked me if we fancied doing some telemarketing for him, so if any of you need some Financial advice that's our next project!! His company is Platinum Financial Services Ltd. They are Independent Mortgage Brokers. He wants some wooden blinds so I'm going to arrange that too! At 2.30 had a meeting with Kev and Mark at the Brownlow Inn to do some upholstery work and then at 3.30 I was on the M6 to Birmingham to pick up some bathroom tiles for Don. It was 7.15 before we arrived home. Don was a little gem and fetched me and ickle man some Kebab for our tea. He was meeting his sister, niece and nephew off the M6, so he picked up his tiles and took off.
Tonight I'm having an early night as theres people coming to look at the house tomorrow morning

Wednesday night was home late as I went to see Don with ickle man to show him my new car and take a Samorai figure he'd ordered from me.
Yesterday morning took ickle man to my parents then went home and sat making cards...as you do?!?! haha
Then at 10am went to see my Mum and Grandma who is 94! Took her a big pot of Pink Lillies as I won't see her on Mother's Day as they are off on holiday and sat and chit chatted...my Grandma bought some cards off me as did my Mum! At 11am I had booked to see a surveyor from Cheshire County council...I do these voluntary things for the good of the community haha that took me to 12.Yes a whole hour thinking about the state of our roads, schools, leisure centres, libraries, crime, deda de da da....I suppose it has it's merits haha
I then started contemplating joining a Health Club, I have been thinking Mere or Cotton's so I rang around to get some prices.
At 12 I went to Crewe in search of boxes to put chocolates in... to no avail... so then went round Sandbach market. Managed to find some in a shop in Sandbach and she bent over backwards to find me 80!! Bless Yes 80....whatever for you may well ask!!...Erm well The Limes in Sandbach which is my latest Marketing project is fully booked for two sittings on Mothers Day and out of the 100's of people coming we have guessed at 80 Mums. So we are making them a nice gift to take away with the telephone number on. Next I did a bit of a deal with a guy on the market for some nice heart shaped chocolates and some Mon Cheri...hehe
When I got to The Limes Steve and his Dad were already well on with the decorating and I joined them for a few hours in a big jumper haha
At some point inbetween Mum and Dad and Grandma came for a meal at The Limes and I joined them I had soup followed by avocado...all very gorgeous!!
When I got home I ordered a load of fabric for the seating at The Limes, picked up ickle man, had some tea then set about making 80 chocolate boxes...I managed to squeeze two in every box and covered them all in nice spotted pink paper, some curling ribbon and a label. I think I fell into bed about 11pm haha
Today I'm off to do more decorating, meet up with Commander for lunch, Yvonne and Jacqui for tea and who knows what else....Never a dull momento!!

  • Dean Ashton

My son's mate Dean Ashton put two goals in the back of the net to get West Ham to the semi finals of the FA Cup, how far that Crewe lad has travelled!! Well done Dean and Congratulations!!

Today I've been out with my lovely friend Carol, we went shopping to Newcastle Under Lyme. I bought loads of material for various projects...we had lunch in a lovely Italian Restaurant then went to buy matchpots in homebase..haha
We had the top down and the heating up full blast!!
Tonight I took ickle man to The Limes in Sandbach for tea..the food was gorgeous, it really is back on track! Funny moment ickle man spilt one of the matchpots all over the floor, the curtains and the windowsill...fortunately it was water based emulsion and all came off! Phew!! What a relief! haha

  • Thursday

My parents came round for tea on Thursday we had tagliatelle and salad followed by apple crumble and icecream, followed by a play with a board game. haha Friday I collected my new car vroom vroom, ickle man insisted we had the top down even though it was snowing.... haha
Friday night went to Nicky and Stuarts new pub The Limes in Sandbach with Heather and Nicky and we sat propping up the bar to the wee hours of the morning. I've realised that you can actually have too many J2O's! I'm sure I'm better for it though!
Stuart has asked me to help with the marketing of The Limes so I'm going to be very busy in the next few weeks to make sure things are turned round and they are in every local newspaper and on everyones lips!
He has already seen an increase in business after 1 week as he has introduced FRESHLY cooked meals and the place is so warm and welcoming now.... so here's to a sucessful future!!
Yesterday I was awoken at a very early hour by my eldest son and his friend wanting to take my car for a spin...so I let him haha He came back saying his car was quicker haha Spent the rest of Saturday posing with ickle man haha rushing around trying to bring plans together.
Saturday teatime went to The Limes so ickle man could have something to eat and then we went to bed really early as I was tired

  • What a week!

Well Thursday Jax came up from DAF trucks and I took her out for lunch to Curshaws, we had all sorts of Tapas which was fab. Think I've made a new friend, shes really funny!
Friday night I ended up out with the girls in Sandbach, as usual I wasn't drinking. A tour of the pubs on J2O'.lol We ended up in the kebab house...I was really pleased cos the guy in there always asks for everyones money upfront...But on Friday he didn't ask me for mine cos he knows I'm the sober one! haha soooo funny
Anyway Saturday morning we had loads of snow and I went over to my friend Don's. We went for a walk in the hills which was lovely. NB threw a few snowballs! I was in a playful mood! He wasn't In the afternoon I went over to my Mum & Dad's. Ickle man was there with my niece and nephew and sister in law Deb. (up from Bournemouth) They had had a wonderful day making and doing and playing in the snow. My Mum's house is always full of noise, laughter and merry making. My parents are kid magnets!! They had all made blue boxes! I take ickle man to my Mum & Dad's every morning and they often have stage shows and performances where my Dad is the wicked witch and my Mum is the Fairy Godmother! Ickle man comes out of the drawn curtains and my Mum announces him and he does magic tricks haha crazy in a great way!
My bro had gone to the Liverpool match with his friend Derek from Bournemouth but it was a late kick off...so we all went with Amanda Dippy Debs friend and the kids for a meal to a fun pubImage(256)
Sunday my lovely bro Andy and Dippy Deb my lovely Sis in Law came round to mine. The kids played for a bit.Lucy is sooo adorable she is the most intelligent child I have met in a long time...apart from Lydia Grace...although I think they are on a par!! Sooo precise and taking it all in. I think we are gunna get on great when she gets older! I packed my bro off with some monty mushrooms from Sandbach market. Ickle man went to his Dad's. I bought the papers for a read then I went to Waitrose where I bumped into Stuart buying a whole roast duck for £4. Apparently they are so expensive noone buys them so they sell them off for £4..we chatted in the isle about what was in each others basket and I said I'd call and see Nicky and Yvonne which is what I did straight after.
Nicky and Yvonne had the most gorgeous fire roaring and I was soon cosy with them having a nice chit chat and cups of tea. At some point Stuart brought us roast duck haha followed by wonderful Goats Cheese Tart..He's a fantastic chef! Nicky's cousin Mark from South Africa turned up to pick up his girls followed by Yvonnes friend Jacquie just back from Cuba, sporting a wonderful tan. Then ickle man turned up and the kids watched a DVD.
Today I've spoken to my friend Jody at one of the DAF dealers in Liverpool. She made my day by saying that she keeps hearing my voice on Radio City on the Advert for Desperate Scousewives haha very funny
Last night one of my footie agent mates from France txt me to say he was in London with Zidane and that it was beautiful. Well yes I can agree our capital city is beautiful and cool not that I go very often!!
Today my eldest son has talked me into lending him a load of money for a new car 8.5k ouch...he could talk me into anything..He has promised he can get £3.8k for his old car...old I mean it's two years old! I could do with a new car myself! lol Tonight I have been for a meal at the Bears Head in Brereton followed by watching a concert with ickle man in it dancing to Mary Poppins sooo cute..Didn't get away though until 10.30.

  • The Apprentice

Did anyone watch The Apprentice? Ben had to go he made poor strategic decisions but worse yes worse he slagged off his team members!! Always a no no!! You have to show leadership! You have to stick by your team! The lady's team leader in my opinion should have been commended on her performance!

Anyway ickle man wrapped me in and I shuffled like a penguin to bed....It got extremely hot at one point infact a burning sensation, followed by looking like I'd had too much sun.
I remember looking at a spider on the ceiling above my bed thinking I hope that doesn't drop in my mouth if i fall asleep...

Woke up this morning still wrapped in cling film and no sign of spider haha
    cling film

  • Sharks Aaaaaaaaaaaagragh

Today we've been to the Blue Planet Aquarium near Ellesmere Port. The first picture is some fish that have no eyes..Quite incredible really that they live in such dark conditions that they have evolved without any eyes just the space where they should go...Bizarre
The second picture is a sting ray and ickle man took great delight in touching it a lot.
The third pictures are mermaid purses...FF4 today 30% of all sharks are born from a purse..dog fish for example...amazing

Then we went to see the sharks and they need to see a good dentist haha, three sets of teeth and half of them hanging off..shudders

  • Crooks Great Day Out

Did anyone read about the launch party for a new footie magazine called Balls?
Anyway it promised a lavish party near the new Wembley stadium, the chance to win a £20k car VIP tickets to the FA cup final and welcomed by models...What more could a crook want? Turns out the only guests were conmen, thieves and drug dealers.
After they were greeted by the glamorous laydees they were identified with hidden cameras then as they took a walk down the staged Wembley tunnel..they were arrested!
Apparently we can see the highlights on MacIntyre's Big Sting 8pm Wednesday Channel 5!

Last night I watched Elvis the early years on Sky with ickle man..My friend called round on the way back from Warwick and I warmed up some Focaccia bread..whilst ickle man ran excitedly up and down the stairs in his red and white jimjam bottoms lol

Went to bed early and now I am full of the joys of Spring as it's Half Term...what excitement will today bring?

    Liverpool, Liverpool Liverrrrpppooool
hehe I think that will give us a lift for the rest of the season hehe

Last night I went out with Nicky, Yvonne & Jayne.By the time I got in from Oxford it was 7.50pm and the girls were hassling me get to ready so I managed to throw myself together quickly and join them in the Wheatsheaf! We just did a tour of the pubs in Sandbach..I was driving, by the end of the evening the girls were mega drunk and we did have a giggle...we called for chips on the way home then i zonked into bed...was soo tired as the day had consisted of me being up and out early, driving to Oxford and as soon as I arrived at DAF Trucks it was full on work right up until 5pm didn't even stop for lunch! Then of course the return leg...with a jam on the M6 so I phoned my Dad and got detour directions!

Today was up and out early, went to the tip, waitrose and a supplier in Manchester all before 12.30... oh excitement then to the farm to get some nice fresh veg...Big mushrooms..too

  • Well Peeps

    mushyWell peeps two things...

    1. My hairy dryer stand turned up.....YAY patience is a virtue

    2. My parent's have been round for tea and I threw something together and it turned out really wonderbra!

It was roasted chicken smeared with butter basted in chicken stock with lemon wedges..

Curshaws was busy we had a couple of bowls of tomato and broccoli soup..delicious

On the way back from lunch at Curshaw's with Commander we popped to Sandbach market where I couldn't resist some flat mushrooms the size of dinner plates!! I also bought some Strawberries and fresh raspberries and an onion ( that's exciting haha)

Anyway I just scooped out the stalk of the mushroom and fried it with some olive oil, some garlic cloves, onions, crumbled bread, fresh tomatoes then put them in the oven sprinkled with loads of cheese...Haven't made them for a bit but they were fantastic....with a capital F!!

I also did some tomatoes on a baking sheet in balsamic vinegar slow cooking and some salad potatoes in rock salt and olive oil

    Anyway it all tasted YUMMY

I dished up fresh strawberries and raspberries for a sweet and voila!! VERY FULL and even I was impressed!!

Funny moment....whilst walking back from Curshaws to my car Commander said hey that guy in that BMW M3 has just craned his neck at us..Jess Jess he's going into that car park..I'll hang back and then you can start up conversation she joked...lol what is she like!!
Anyway the funny bit was when we got to the carpark it was a guy we knew so when he rolled down his blacked out windows to talk to us we just burst into hysterical laughter..Not cos of him but cos we knew him..poor guy..he's really lovely too...and so are his wife and family!!!

  • Last Night

Well last night's little excursion to Waitrose with my son cost me £52!! Admittedly the shop for my son did include some shampoo and hair conditioner for me...however the things you do for love!!

My son turned up at about 5.45 with a recipe in his hand...I'm doing this Mum...I just need you to come with me as I don't recognise some of the ingredients. Well it was a pasta and sauce recipe..not too expensive I thought haha

Mum I need to buy double of everything as I'm going to have a practise tonight...bless

Oh and he bought her a single red rose in a vase too...well I did haha

About 8pm he excitedly phoned me to tell me that his practise had all gone very well and it was sooo nice he was going to take it to work and let the lads in the orifice sample it....haha

Friday night went out with the lovely Yvonne to the Wheatsheaf in Sandbach. Bumped into my eldest son who rushed over and gave me a big hug bless...made my weekend! Yvonne got talking to a guy that runs the local microlite farm place in Sandbach and I think he fancied her cos he's promised that we can have a free go! So we were gunna go today but the weather was sooo awful that we didn't...waah...can you imagine me in a microlite? Not sure if i can haha still quite excited about the prospect.

Yesterday the highlight was my Waitrose food shopping including some rather scrummy walnut bread!! I had a stint in A&E at the local hospital cos ickle man didn't feel too well with a headache and stomach ache and the nurse insisted he was checked over..He miraculously got better en route however he doesn't feel too well again this evening and is running a high temperature.

Ended up at the Trafford Centre today with ickle man we went to Tiggi's for our tea.

    pudding
On the way home I had a look round Buxton which I call Buxsom the crescent buildings are fab not sure why they've never been made into something very special. Over the years I've spent rather a lot of time in Buxsom, I used to have days out there, some of my parents friends live there, my cousin lives there, I've spent a fair bit of time in a Quarry there called doveholes, I even went on a go kart thing for my friends son's Birthday..in Buxsom! So Buxsom holds special memories...but I am especially in love with the buildings
    DSCF0675

Tonight I went with Nicky,Stuart and Yvonne to the Brownlow Inn in Congleton. Nicky's cousin Mark has just taken it over and he's come from South Africa with his family to start a new life....so it looks like we might frequent it a bit haha...had a very nice prawn sandwich...and we chilled by the log firefire

Anyways after three trips to the tip and a MACDONALD's for NRG I have finally won....Yay wunderbar...highlight was finding my favourite jeans in a huge black bin liner mountain of clothes!

Last night went to Sandbach with the lovely Yvonne...Yvonne and Nicky have just booked an all inclusive holiday to Cuba and asked me to go with them...so I'm thinking about it.......I was driving as usual so no alcohol passed my lips! We did a tour of the pubs and ended up in the Wheatsheaf...bumped into my eldest son which was cool and one of his mates bought me a drink....bless...then my friend insisted on us asking the landlord if he could spare a loaf of bread to toast on the fire haha of course he said no..waaaaaaaaah

  • Burns Night...How the Scots Celebrate Tonight?

Well I've never had the pleasure of celebrating with a Scot on Burns night...but apparently this is what they do if you didn't know? Well I didn't!! It comes as no surprise then... that the Scots celebrate the life of a man whose poetry continues to inspire and amuse....And hey Auld Lang Syne...he gave us that we should all celebrate...hehe any excuse!! My family name Macaulay has Scottish roots, we even have our own tartan haha and even though non of us are Scottish my Grandma lived in Glasgow for a lot of my childhood and I spent many many October holiday's on the Island of Mull and Iona....oh and my cousin and his wife are both on Scottish TV every day so I guess I have one or two links? haha anyway I might make an effort and try making vegetarian haggis tonight...I don't much fancy the real McCoy as it involves lungs and stuff that doesn't sound too appetizing.

The Burns Supper is an institution of Scottish life, a night to celebrate the life and genius of the national Bard Robbie Burns. Suppers can be everything from an informal gathering of friends to a huge, formal dinner full of pomp and circumstance. This running order covers all the key elements.

The running order for a traditional Burns Supper

    Piping in the guests
A big-time Burns Night calls for a piper to welcome guests. If you haven't got a bagpipe or piper hoho, some traditional music will do nicely. For more formal events, the audience should stand to welcome arriving guests: the piper plays until the High Table is ready to be seated, at which point a round of applause is due.

    Chairman's welcome
The Chairman warmly welcomes the assembled guests.

    The Selkirk Grace
A short but important prayer to usher in the meal with a reading of The Selkirk Grace.

Also known as 'Burns's Grace at Kirkcudbright.' Although the text is often printed in English, it is usually recited in Scots.

    Piping in the Haggis
Guests should normally stand to welcome the dinner's star attraction, which should be delivered on a silver platter by a procession consisting of the chef, the piper and the person who will address the Haggis. A whisky-bearer should also arrive to ensure the toasts are well lubricated.
During the procession, guests clap in time to the music until the Haggis reaches its destination at the table. The music stops and everyone is seated in anticipation of the address "To a Haggis".

    Address to the Haggis
The honoured reader now seizes their moment of glory by offering a fluent and entertaining rendition of "To a Haggis". The reader should have their knife poised at the ready. On cue ("His knife see Rustic-labour dight"), they cut the casing along its length, making sure to spill out some of the tasty gore within ("trenching its gushing entrails").

This bit made me chuckle...Warning: it is wise to have a small cut made in the haggis skin before it is piped in. Instances are recorded of top table guests being scalded by flying pieces of haggis when enthusiastic reciters omitted this precaution!

The recital ends with the reader raising the Haggis in triumph during the final line ("Gie her a Haggis!"), which the audience greets with rapturous applause.

    Toast to the Haggis
Prompted by the speaker, the audience now joins in the toast to the Haggis. Raise a glass and shout: "The Haggis!" Then it's time to serve the main course with its traditional companions, neeps and tatties. (neeps are turnips and tatties are potatoes both are mashed) In larger events, the piper leads a procession carrying the opened Haggis out to the kitchen for serving; audience members should clap as the procession departs.

    The meal
Dinner is served with some suitable background music. The sumptuous Bill o' Fare includes traditional cock-a-leekie soup before the main course ("Haggis wi' bashit neeps an' champit tatties"), followed by a sweet course of "clootie dumplin" (a pudding prepared in a linen cloth or cloot) or "Typsy Laird" (a Scottish sherry trifle).
Afterwards comes the cheese board, served with bannocks (traditional oat-cakes) and tea/coffee/malt whisky.
Variations do exist: beef lovers can serve the haggis, neeps and tatties as a starter with roast beef or steak pie as the main dish. Vegetarians can of course choose vegetarian haggis.
    The drink
Liberal lashings of wine or ale should be served with dinner and it's often customary to douse the Haggis with a "wee splash of whisky sauce", which, with true Scottish understatement, is whisky neat.
After the meal, it's time for connoisseurs to compare notes on the wonderful selection of malts served by the generous host.

    The first entertainment
The nervous first entertainer follows immediately after the meal. Often it will be a singer or musician performing Burns songs such as "My Luve is Like a Red Red Rose", "Rantin', Rovin' Robin", "John Anderson, my jo" or "Ae Fond Kiss, and Then We Sever". Alternatively it could be a moving recital of a Burns poem, with perennial preference for "Tam O'Shanter", "Holy Willie's Prayer", "To a Louse", "Address to the Unco Guid" or "For a' that and a' that".

    The Immortal Memory
The keynote speaker takes the stage to deliver a spell-binding oratory on the life of Robert Burns. His literary genius, his politics, his highs and lows, his human frailty and - most importantly - his nationalism are the enduring themes. The speech must bridge the dangerous chasm between serious intent and sparkling wit, painting a colourful picture of Scotland's beloved Bard.
The speaker concludes with a heart-felt toast: "To the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns!"

    The second entertainment
More celebration of Burns' work, preferably a poem or song to complement the earlier entertainment.

Yes loving this bit....The toast to the Lassies
The humorous highlight of any Burns Night comes in this toast, which is designed to praise the role of women in the world today. This should be done by selective quotation from Burns's works and should crescendo towards a positive note.
The toast concludes: "To the Lassies!"

    The third entertainment
Further indulgence in the works of the great man.

The reply to the toast to the Lassies
In mixed proceedings, a woman has the right of reply to the men's toast. Thanking the toast-master for his kind words is a necessary - and some times strained - formality, but the response offers the chance to upstage the men, again through cunning use of examples from Burns's life and works.

    Final entertainment
As the last drops of malt are drained, a final entertainer bravely faces the (usually restless) audience.

    Vote of thanks
The host now climbs to his potentially unsteady feet to thank everyone who has contributed to a wonderful evening… and to suggest that taxis will arrive shortly.

    Auld Lang Syne
The chairman closes the proceedings by inviting guests to stand and belt out a rousing rendition of the famous tune. The company joins hands and sings as one, having made sure to brush up on those difficult later lines.

  • Curry Night

Tonight we had Curry and it was sort of cheating cos I just fried the chicken and stirred in the fresh waitrose curry sauce with a bit of banana!! haha Cooked some rice and Nan bread and that was that followed by home made meringue, mango, rasberries and cream...sort of using up there....not that keen on Mango however....I love Mango chutney and they are very good for you...power fruit no less!! haha Apparently one Mango is almost a whole daily dose of Vitamin C! Also the antioxidant helps prevent arthritis and boosts wound healing and your immune system. Mangoes also boast more that 8,000 IU of vitamin A!

Watched Mr Destiny on Sky...lesson for us all there..quite a good film!

Funny moment...I have no car it is at the garage...until tomorrow...so I ordered a taxi to pick me up from the orifice then goto the childminders to collect ickle man then home... Only problem was I got to the childminders and he was at dance club...DOH...so I got out of the taxi at school and thanked him for the run round the block for nothing...soooo embarassing

  • Did you know

This morning I have been making my way through a mound of fruit I've had an apple, a bowl of cherries, a pomegranate drink and I was just about to tuck into a big box of strawberries and it says on the packet that......delicious on their own or serve with sugar, cream, fromage frais or A DASH OF BLACK PEPPER? REALLY? RIGHT I'M OFF TO TRY IT......BACK IN A BIT TO GIVE THE VERDICT!!

I didn't enjoy strawberries with black pepper! It was ok but not the best!

  • Pomegranate Juice

This morning I have been drinking Pomegranate Juice! It really was quite refreshing and delicious...very much like rasberry juice
Anyway the reason I'm drinking it is because pomegranate juice is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants with more power than green tea, blueberry juice, cranberry juice and red wine!! So hopefully it will contribute to my body's well-being! Very nice anyway!!

Last night watched Return of the Mummy which I thoroughly enjoyed!

  • These are my Brother's two children

These are my Brother's two children and I have to say haven't we got a good looking family!! Soooo cute!!

Just had the most fabulous tea...it was two chicken breasts slit down side...in the slits I put sliced lemon and black pepper then fried in olive oil for 5mins each side..then added 3tsps runny honey, small tub of creme fraise, rest of lemon juice and lemon zest simmered for a further 5 mins...and oh yummy
Served with new potatoes, mange tout and baby sweetcorn...DELICIOUS was really lemony!!

  • My Weekend

Well people...how to have an eventful weekend without trying? lol
Friday night went out with eight ladies some of whom I'd not seen in ages and ages we went to the Holly Bush we always jokingly call it the Hairy Bush. The food was fantastic but later on I thought I really shouldn't have had soo much fish! We started with a complimentary Smoked salmon parcel filled with cream cheese. For a starter I had Lobster & Salmon terrine followed by a main course of Scallops and tagliatelle. Fantastic Food there can't rave about it enough!! Everyone else around me seemed to be having pheasant except Commander who is vegetarian! I was too full for a sweet as I was full up on orange J2O's...Drove home and collapsed into bed very tired.

During the course of the evening I was challenged to a game of scrabble and at 2am by Don after being chased up for this game of scrabble I went! Laff what a mad thing to do play scabble at that time but hey never a dull moment! So after 3hrs of a scrabble match which I then lost I finally went to bed again!

In the morning I was concerned about my car as the oil light was on and as you remember I put 5lts in not two weeks ago when my car broke down in the car wash. I thought I must have a leak! So there I go... I tootle off to the petrol station and buy another 5lts of oil pour it in....ouch £30...Now this is the point where I wish I hadn't poured in soo much...cos as I left the petrol station my car wiped out the whole of the area in thick white smoke!! I came to a halt at some traffic lights as I had great concern that maybe my car was on fire or something!! haha
My friend Don then told me to pull it round the corner as it wasn't the best place to stop! I took it round the corner and stopped....and there it died it wouldn't start! haha (I can laugh now). Fortunately my friend Don's neighbour was a mechanic so we managed to sort a man to recover it and to tell us that the problem was too much oil and he would need to drain 2lts off and burn off the other 2lts that were now in my exhaust...! haha The rest of the day was spent with Don in Violin shops, lighting shops, dancing, learning to dirty dance, learning to play pool..wow Wickes, music shops whilst hanging about waiting for all the oil to be burnt off.
If you could have seen the smoke coming from the car at the garage you would have been in stitches it was like a steam train! I wished I'd taken photo's...
When I finally recovered my car it cost me £50 which i didn't think was too bad however he told me my oil pressure was low and my engine was in danger of ceasing up and I really shouldn't risk driving home to Sandbach!
I took a gamble and my friend said "I'll follow you so far" bless... to check I was ok...it was only after we had driven 15mins that I realised I had left my phone at my friends house DOH...so my friend offered to follow me all the way home.
When I eventually did arrive home I picked up ickle man and we went almost straight away to bed...too much haha
Sunday was far more leisurely and calm...later on watched the Chelsea match which was a draw and later on still watched Man U v LFC which we lost in the last minute...my friend brought my phone back and helped me put a mirror up bless.
Later later on I watched the Mummy with ickle man...ooo I did enjoy that film it had humour mixed with a bit of excitement and gore! I must watch the Mummy Returns tonight
Sooooooooo people all in all a different weekend and like I've said before NEVER EVER A DULL MOMENTO!!

The best news of the weekend though was my son PJ's mate Dean Ashton ickle Crewe lad.... only 22 has just been signed up for Premier League team West Ham so we have to say congratulations to him!! Well done!!

  • Blue Overall Man

Nipped home at lunchtime to go on the running machine and on the way back shudders......A man in a silver car was waving at me at the top of the road....I instantly waved back and mid wave realised it was blue overall man AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH...I actually had a bit of a laugh about it with Commander when I got back but hey!! Commander said at least he's consistent cos he was still in his blue overalls!! haha

  • Pies!

It's Friday and John has bought me a Howe's pie! It was fantastic..looking out at blue sky and green at them moment...what a beautiful day!! I have lost 1/2 a stone! yay it's finally started to pay off all the running and sitting wired up to the electric shock machine!

  • Mallorca Here We Come!!

Been to see my parents for tea tonight (we had Salmon yummy)and for my Birthday they have bought me a week at my friend Mark & Avril's pad in May!! Yippee I've just booked the flights so I'm off to warmer places and not too long to wait...Ickle man had loads of homework that was like pulling hens teeth to get him to do, so my mum played the piano to calm him down...I must say some of the words he had to make sentences out of were a bit difficult for 7...disarm,disclose,disorder to name but a few! hmm what concept has a 7year old of any of those words? Except maybe disorder hahaha Oh yes then we had to look around the bathroom estimate the capacity of 6 containers then draw a table and publish a guess against actual and show the difference!

Port de Soller is the place

The appartment is 3 double bedrooms so me and ickle man will be really rattling around..I am impressed that the rooms have views of mountains...looks like we'll have the pool all to ourselves as well hehe..never a dull moment...The price of flights at the end of May £400 for two of us....bit expensive!!..Avril & Mark are paying £50 for theirs in April...oh and there was 5p in my bed this morning...fortunately not stuck to my bum though!! haha

If anyone wants to book it cos I know it will be very nice goto property ref B1203

  • Beautiful Day

Yesterday was another beautiful day out. We took advantage by going to the park at around 4. Ickle man rode his bike happily (He is riding like a champ on 2 wheels now!) He even batted his eyes enough to have another ickle girl push him on a swing. He really melts the hearts of everyone he meets, he's a sweety. Just like his brother PJ. We went for a walk following a path to the canal. One elderly woman said, "Your little ones is so precious". I was proud to say that yes, he is with a smile on my face. LOL People crack me up.

We took a break in the middle of our walk to play finger football together on a picnic table. An elderly couple stopped to talk about the weather. I really love this town. People are so slow paced and friendly. The majority are anyway.

Before we went for our walk I was feeling pretty bored. I really wanted a friend to talk with, I guess I feel like a spare part sometimes (we get boring I guess...lol). Most people are there with their families. Mine has been broken apart and I'm a people person I like being with people so when I'm not for weeks on end it get's me down. Various friends want to cheer me up so I let them. I know tons of people. Few are really close but those that are we light up in each others company. We tell jokes, we tell stories, we discuss our lives.

So, after that and our walk we were starving. Mr Waitrose was waiting on the doorstep with this weeks delivery so after unpacking I rustled up some fresh salmon. I then got changed into something comfy and sat in front of the TV doing absolutely nothing! It felt really wonderful I truly am blessed to have 2 great kids that I can really, truly enjoy. I view being a mother as what a blessing it truly is.

  • Last Night

Last night as well as watching Most Haunted from The Jamaican Inn which was oooooo soooo scary I also had the pleasure of watching Long Way Round which documents the adventures of film stars Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman on their 20,000 mile motor bike trip around the world. Many of you have probably seen it before but this was my first glimpse. The bit I saw last night had them travelling on non existent roads days from any built up area and the hardships and mind struggles along the way through Mongolia.

Now for those of you interested in my dreams and how they come true...track back to Sunday the 15th...today a TV producer contacted me out of the blue on an entirely different subject...but then went on to say if I wanted to be on this programme too as a friend of the family!! Laff did I not tell you that what i dream about comes true! The blog serves as proof!! Did I not predict that did I not? haha Stranger still my friends batman Neil and Commander will vouch for this....but we can be talking about something, anything, or nothing in particular and then the following day or within a few days you have to go WOW cos it happens!

  • Have you ever had a dream that's so real

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night having had a dream that was so real and I was overcome with an overwhelming sense of grief. So real it upset me and I couldn't get back to sleep...funny old world.

  • Brother

My brother is having a 40th Birthday in October at a holiday camp in Bournemouth so all his friends can go from all round the globe! Haha he did talk about fancy dress and a 70's theme but I'm not sure if that's the case still.
Anyway he got me thinking how much I miss him. You spend all your youth growing up with your brother

you'll always be my true brother.
I care for you as a real sister would,
and you know that i'll always love you as best i could.

    May our friendship last forever;
May I sail upon your sea.
    May we go through life together;
    May we always be free.

May I be your endless friend
May we have fun to share.
    May you never wonder why
Each time you look for me, I'm there.

I will always be here for you,
even when we are both blue.
I hope i'll always have you,
I hope our feelings for each other always remain true.

I hope, for your sister, there is always a place in your heart,
i pray that we may never grow apart.
I love you as much as your baby sister could,
and i love you as much as a baby sister would.

May we share our special days,
    The happiness of one for two;
And if we must go separate ways,
Let my love remain with you!

    Ahh-ha

    We move into another day
The summer seems so far away
I find your pictures on the wall
I switch the light in falling rain
The pictures flicker, try to stay
I lose you walking down some hall

    She was waving
    She was
    She was saving me
    She was
    And I was laughing because
She was tying me in knots

    And she's making me feel
Like I've never been touched before
    Ahh-ha
    Making me feel
Like I've never been touched before
    Ahh-ha

    She was flying
    She was
    She was crying
    She was
    And I was aching because
    She was moving me across

    And she's making me feel
Like I've never been touched before
    Ahh-ha
    Making me feel
Like I've never been touched before
    Ahh-ha

  • Mow Cop

Today I've been with ickle man to Mow Cop and it was soo dark, wild and windy it was cool. This prominent hill-top has been of spiritual and practical significance to man for thousands of years.
And when you go up it you feel that too!! The sense of wilderness, of loneliness, of HEIGHT, is worth any effort to get there. You can see most of Stoke on Trent in one direction and most of Cheshire in the other. Mow Cop gets its name from Moel Cop - a bald hill. A remote mountain spur, it is, in fact, the Southernmost point of the Pennines - the "backbone of England". The castle itself is actually a folly but the hill has great significance as it is the highest point in the area...steeped in history.Anyway the blast of fresh air was great and you always feel ontop of the world when you climb a hill.

  • I got my wish for something wild & Exciting

  • Cycle Of Life

A woman of 30 thinks of having children, marriage and money. A man of 30 thinks of what freedom he's gunna lose...when the nagging sets in. Cos lets face it 99.99% of women of 30 wanna own a man..and freedom haha forget it. A woman of 40 thinks of having fun, being happy & enjoying her children. What does a man of 40 think of? Dating children lol until he realises he already has children, money and freedom so why would he wanna start the cycle of losing freedom and money again?

  • Friday the 13th

Guess what it seems to be even better quality than what you would choose in the shop! I am loving this new regime....As a result I have just had asparagus plunged into hot water for 1min then wrapping various bundles with bacon sprinkling with olive oil, salt & pepper and putting in oven for few mins...wowwweeeeeeee fantastic!! • Has Anyone Ever Watched Quiz Mania TV?

I was watching it last night and the question was you had to guess the word that comes before hat
    so ____ Hat

Well anyway they made a show out of it that went on for hrs and hrs
There was a list of say 10 possibilities

It is actually brilliantly funny cos the peeps that phone in are sometimes well....

Imagine this the last word the presenter gave out loads and loads of clues so many that he actually spelt the word out on a piece of paper as follows

    AMPHIB_OUS

It has to be exactly right he kept saying....it went on for ages....finally he takes a call from a lady and she
says AMPHIBIAN......he says can I check that again with you as it needs to be EXACTLY right.... look at the screen as he points to the card again....
Again she says AMPHIBIAN....again he double checks

Of course she didn't win and I just laffed and laffed I mean what entertainment that show is....

Another one was a tin of beans.....can you guess viewers will it sink or float...Erm DOH!!!!

  • Jake Got Me Thinking

Well Jake got me thinking about all the bizarre days that I've had and I decided to tell you another.Well it was Polling day last year...beautiful hot sunny day...had a meeting near Heathrow in the morning and a meeting in North London at 2pm. Mtg in the morning went well left at 1pm in good time for 2nd meeting...only Jess took the wrong route and ended up in Central London yes on Polling day! I realised I had gone wrong when I passed Fulham football club then Arsenal or Chelsea can't remember which...followed by Houses of Parliment, tower of London...at this point....I must add that I was not in my own car...this is very important later on in the story! Anyway what a delight it was driving through London beautiful sunshine, strollers by...bomb scares!
At this point I phone my supplier in North London to help direct me out of the congestion.
I get passed from pillar to post before I get a not English van driver talking to me...saying what do you see what do you see! haha I wanted to say the plane the plane...bit my lip though...Anyway 2hours of that is enough to flatten anyone's mobile telephone and aaaaaaagrahgh no charger cos not in my car. lol
At 5.30 I turned up at my suppliers had a 10minute charge of battery and a chat...then I was back on my way and lost again.
I manage to get hold of a friend who fortunately directed me out of the mayhem.
I then had to phone my Mum and ask her to drop ickle man off at his Dad's cos I was just leaving London.
I then call at the petrol station for sandwiches and to buy a phone charger..no joy on the phone charger.
The M25 and M1 were very busy and I was stuck in traffic for ages stopping at various petrol stations looking for a phone charger...still no joy.
The M6 toll was ahead and it said bad accident on the M6..Just paid my money and the beautiful car I was in broke down...I managed to call the AA before the phone conked out however only to tell her the location.
Waaaaaaaaaaaah I had no coat, it was dark, no phone and it started to rain lol
I climbed over the barrier and had a real good chuckle I mean why ME! haha
I was only half an hour before the lovely AA man arrived and the first thing he did bless was give me his Orange coat...rrr
Anyway he established that it was the fuel pump fairly quickly and said we would have to tow me to the nearest services.
Have you ever been on a tow bar he said..no I said...it's ok...visors down and you just steer no braking ok
Fine...got there uneventfully...still no phone charger...he tinkered about...before saying right just a full tank of petrol and your away.
£50 later and no cash left I was off again.
Once on the M6 there had been an accident which meant another hour and 30mins sitting about...when I finally got to the Stoke junction I held my head in my hands as there turned over on the motorway was a lorry with frozen chickens or turkeys all over the road and dozens of firemen with wire shopping trolleys running up and down the carriageway collecting them up it really was comical...NOW THAT's BIZARRE!! But hey made it home for 11.30 ish never a dull momento!

  • Well today I had an exciting calendar in the post lol

Well today I had an exciting calendar in the post! It's the tasty Trucker Calendar for 2006 in aid of Macmillan cancer relief..hehe .thought it might amuse ya!! It's those underpants caveman style that had me in hysterics bless

  • The Rest of Garage Story ...Juzzzy forced me

It went like this...Jess nips out for bin liners, petrol and car wash....simple enough eh haha
Let's leave the match on ickle man (which had just started) we'll only be 2mins...
Jess picks up bin liners, petrol and pays including car wash..has to wait for 3 cars in front to finish car washings...I mean when is it ever that busy lol
hmm when our turn...Jess couldn't find car wash ticket with number on sooo Jess has to drive through the car wash as 2 further cars are behind us....couldn't keep them waiting...
Very nice man gets out and asks if we are going in the carwash or not....Jess finds car wash ticket too late and has to then rejoin queue behind 2 more cars....lol
Jess goes back in shop as needs paper to keep amused and child is now cold and hungry while waiting...so buys sandwiches.... reads all about the latest BB romp scandal...gets in car wash with coat half out door....nice ..gets car washed...and coat washed..lol
.car won't start....aaaaaaaaaaaaaagrah.......man in car behind has to get out and help push along with shop assistant who was very helpful and himself learning to drive lol..jess steers with great difficulty as no power steering.....brings to a halt outside shop...let me check your oil.....says shop assistant.....looks like none in...
Jess buys 5ltr can of oil at £20...coat is all wet...and Jess now feeling unglamorous.
..car takes all oil...Jess thinks i'll phone my Dad...forgot mobile phone..with mr AA man's number in..
.shop assistant says you can use ours.....the phone has a very long cable in the shop...he stretches it over while he dials the numbers from much further away...........at this point I thought someone must be doubled over laughing up there in the sky at this comedy sketch unfolding..the shop was very busy
..Shop assistant dials Dad....someone on phone....dials PJ....no answer...dials Dad on phone...dials PJ no
answer...after 6 or 7 goes Jess gives up....at this point two other guys offer to try pushing to see if we can get it going.....backwards and
forwards....backwards and forwards we go.... on the garage forecourt...haha..still no joy....another guy
comes along...with his sandwiches bless..hold these luv haha you'll never get an automatic going by pushing you know...now you tell us...thanks for that wisdom we could have been there all night to and fro lol
More guys turn up and that's when we got lucky.....two
mechanics...hehe...jump lead's to the rescue....by the time got home match was over hahahahaha...and yet again another forecourt video classic lol
Commander has started to wonder if ickle man will remember all of these things when he gets older or if a TV sketch could be made

  • Someone Said to me

Someone said to me..........What peeps do you know who give a blow by blow account of their life....I did think well you obviously aint met the blog world yet.....haha..cos that's most of us....and we are either here cos we're lonely or bored or just want a bit of cyber space to interact and leave our mark..or have something we wanna say...or maybe we do it for business reasons...or keeping in touch with our family...anyway ho hum the rest of the world can live in ignorance....hehe..we just like to be informed!
The same person said we invited you round for lunch on Christmas day out of pity..oh well it was a nice time anyway

I had 3 1ps on my desk when I arrived at the orifice today? Think that's a fix...what do you reckon?

  • Life Is Like A Train Ride

Life is like a train ride.
We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy; some will result in profound sorrow. When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents!

Sadly, this is far from the truth.
Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence.

There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn.

These people are our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we will learn to love, and cherish.

Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along.

Others will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey.
Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off….

Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarcely leave a sign that they ever travelled along with you or ever crossed your path…

We will sometimes be upset that some passengers, whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own.

Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.
Nevertheless, once sought out and found, we may not even be able to sit next to them because that seat will already be taken.

That’s okay …everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes.

We must strive to make the best of it… no matter what...

We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and look for the best in everyone.

Remember that at any moment during our journey, any one of our travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of our help.

We too may vacillate or hesitate, even trip… hopefully we can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding…

The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come. Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop. Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.

Personally, I know I’ll be sad to make my final stop…. I’m sure of it! My separation from all those friends and acquaintances I made during the train ride will be painful. Leaving all those I’m close to will be a sad thing. But then again, I’m certain that one day I’ll get to the main station only to meet up with everyone else. They’ll all be carrying their baggage… most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.

I’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage… and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life.

We’re all on this train ride together. Above all, we should all try to strive to make the ride as pleasant and memorable as we can, right up until we each make the final stop and leave the train for the last time.

    All aboard!
    Safe journey!!

    BON VOYAGE!

  • The Haggis Hunt is on!

    http://haggishunt.scotsman.com/
I had to look up what Haggis was all about so here you go....you won't have to now!!
Traditionally, a Haggis is made from the lung, liver, and heart of the sheep. These are mixed with oatmeal and a few spices and stuffed into the sheep's stomach. After being boiled, the Haggis is brought to the table with a great deal of ceremony. A piper ushers in the Haggis and all raise a glass of Scotch whiskey and "brrreath a prrayerr for the soul of Rrrobbie Burrrns!" It is then served with "neeps and nips," mashed turnips and nips of whiskey. I think you have to drink a lot of Scotch before you can truly enjoy this dish, but a party of Scots without a Haggis is simply not heard of.
